This makes me unhappy…because it’s what men want, it’s TOTALLY OK!!
Go ahead, barbiehighheels. I know we’re all dying to see your response. :)
I don’t even need to fight this.
Those little penis wrinkles are their very own punchline.
just because I’m an ass guy, I’m the bad guy
That last dude is right.
Also.. you don’t see us men folk complaining about boy bands.
THEY’RE aimed at women/girls so are constantly in a state of undress, singing songs about loving you (you being women) and gyrating their hips at the camera/audience/you.
have these girls ever been to an Ambercrombie store? i’m being assaulted by 1000 pics of shirtless boys that are 8 feet tall. stop complaining cause this shit happens, just roll with the flow.
My feathers.
They stay ruffled.
Yeah, us guys… We don’t complain about boy bands, we just humiliate anyone who listens to them because it’s too “girly”; we’re offended by shirtless dudes at stores but god forbid anyone point out the blatant objectification of women in comic books, god forbid someone point out a very real problem in comic books by putting male characters in the same questionable poses female characters are put.
I’m sorry you guys, I’m sorry it’s such a fucking issue to you as MEN when we’re treated in the same way MEN treat women.
I’m all for complaining about objectification when there’s a double-standard set against any gender/sex/group, but the only people setting double-standards and dismissing a very real problem with society are you, men.
Since you’re so offended by all of this, do your sex a favor: MAN-UP AND SUCK IT UP. If you expect women to do it when it’s done to them? Don’t complain when it’s done to you—- Or better yet, do something about it and expect the rest of us to grow up.
EVeryone needs to get over it. Yes, there are issues, but posting it on Tumblr is going to do nothing. Shit happens. Yes, people are objectified, and yes everyone sees naked men and women all around town, but seriously. The real problem isn’t the posters or the ads or any of that, it’s the way we all look at ourselves, alright? Seriously. If you found yourself beautiful or you were secure, this wouln’t be a problem. I know people are going to say “oh but this is so wrong to men/women, we’re just being seen as bodies and sex symbols!” So. Fucking. What. Unless you personally are being seen as a sex symbol and don’t want to, then you really can’t bitch. One women/man’s body on a posterboard doesn’t speak for all of them. Just because that girl has huge boobs and is half naked in a sign doesn’t mean that it’s looking down on women. It was this girl’s choice to be on this sign. Just because there are men shirtless with crazy abs doesn’t mean every women you meet is going to expect you to look like that, and if they do, fuck them. But seriously, it’s media, people. I get that it has a harsh influence on the world, but chances are, it’s not going to change. Sooner or later we’ll get over it. (Source: shieldxmaiden)
